Release Summary

WebStore by Amazon 4.8 provides several enhancements to the WebStore platform. Some of the enhancements you will find are the introduction of Ominture Web Analytics Integration, enhancements to widget buttons on the Template Editor and updated caching to improve page load times.

Omniture Integration

This enhancement enables merchants to integrate the Omniture Web Analytics package with their WebStore. This analytics suite provides a series of general analytics features as well as some advanced features such as Site Analysis, Merchandising Analysis, Marketing Analysis, Campaign Analysis and Pricing Analysis.

Integrating Omniture

To integrate Omniture with your WebStore, you must set up an account with Omniture. Once this is completed, simply navigate to the Traffic Manager, select Add a Web Analytics Package and enter your Omniture account Information. Once you republish your store, your tracking will begin.

Sample Reports

A large series of reports are available within the Omniture suite. Below are a couple of sample reports that can be generated.

The first report is the Purchase Conversion and Average report. This graph shows the following data for a selected time range:

1. Amount of visits to the site.
2. Items added to the cart.
3. Actual number of orders.
4. Actual sales revenue.

The next report shows a list of Top Search Terms used on the storefront. This report displays the search terms and number of page visits per search term. Information is presented in data and graph form.

New Classic Template Styles

Two new template flash enabled styles have been added to the Classic Theme suite. The new styles are Fresh and Next Generation Red.

The following screen shots provide a look at the new styles.

Merchants can edit flash components of these new styles by navigating to the Template Manger and clicking the flash object on the WebStore Template. This launches the Custom Script Widget where the flash object can edited.

Color of Site Widget Button Changed

This enhancement updates the Site Widget button on the Template Editor. Previously this button appeared dark grey with a small red border around the button. WebStore 4.8 provides an updated button that appears in red to help merchants easily identify the location of this button type

Wrong Sort Order due to Default Being Disabled

This enhancement fixes a known issue with incorrect sort order being applied on the storefront. WebStore now looks at the sort options from the Template Manager and applies the first enabled sort option as the default on the Storefront.

Google Analytics eCommerce Tracking

This enhancement provides updates to the eCommerce transaction posting code for Google Analytics. New versions of Google Analytics include new tracking scripts with variables that WebStore did not recognize.

These new variables have been added and Webstore's Google Analytics eCommerce transaction posting code now works using either the new or old version of the analytics package.
